Driving Thai Hair Transplant Medicine Forward: Dr. Ben Committed to Advancing Thailand Toward International Standards
Dr. Ben Butwong, a well-known Thai hair transplant specialist and founder of Mediren Clinic, continues her mission to elevate Thai hair transplant medicine to global standards and support Thailand’s development as a leading medical hub in Asia.
On August 5, 2025, Dr. Ben participated as an invited speaker and trainer at the annual conference of the Indonesian Society of Dermatology (PERDOSKI), held in Bali, Indonesia. She presented on Long Hair FUE, a technique she has practiced and refined over many years.
Her participation as an international speaker reflects her role as a regional leader in the Hair Transplant Thailand field, while also serving as an opportunity to strengthen academic collaboration and medical technology for hair restoration across Southeast Asia.
During the event, Dr. Ben also engaged in discussions with the President of PERDOSKI regarding potential future collaborations aimed at enhancing the knowledge and capability of hair transplant physicians in the region.
With more than 15 years of continuous clinical experience, Dr. Ben Butwong has long been trusted for her expertise. She is recognized as a pioneer in developing hair transplant techniques specifically adapted to the characteristics of Asian hair and scalp. Her repeated invitations to present on international stages reflect the recognition she has earned in the global medical community.
Dr. Ben shared her vision:

This vision is rooted in the success of the FUE ASIA Conference & Workshop 2024, held at The Berkeley Hotel Bangkok in August 2024. The event became a significant turning point for Thailand’s hair transplant sector and received wide attention from medical professionals both domestically and internationally.
As the conference chairperson, Dr. Ben emphasized raising Thailand’s standards in hair restoration. The event welcomed specialists from public and private sectors across the country, along with experts from more than ten countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
A major highlight of the conference was the Live Surgery Workshop at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, which allowed physicians from Thailand and abroad to exchange hands-on knowledge—an essential step in strengthening Thailand’s capabilities toward becoming a future center of excellence in hair transplantation. The event also received official support from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), reinforcing the important role of Hair Transplant Thailand in contributing to the country’s medical tourism development.
Beyond her role in international events, Dr. Ben is recognized for her expertise in FUE Megasession and Long Hair FUE, techniques requiring precision, consistency, and a deep understanding of individual follicular structure. Known regionally as Dr. Ben Butwong—and previously by her full name, Dr. Benjawan Butwong—she continues to train new generations of physicians in Thailand and is the founder of Mediren Clinic, one of Thailand’s long-established and trusted hair restoration clinics.
