Thai Hair Transplant Doctor Gains Global Recognition, Advancing Thailand Toward Becoming Asia’s Medical Hub
A leading Thai hair transplant specialist, Dr. Ben Butwong—widely known as “Dr. Ben”—recently participated as a guest speaker and trainer at an international medical conference. She delivered a detailed presentation on Long Hair FUE at the annual meeting of the Indonesian Society of Dermatology (PERDOSKI), held in Bali, Indonesia.
Her invitation as a guest lecturer highlights her growing presence as a regional leader in the Hair Transplant Thailand field. The event also served as a key opportunity to expand academic collaboration and enhance medical technology related to hair restoration across Southeast Asia. During the conference, Dr. Ben discussed future cooperative initiatives with the President of PERDOSKI to help strengthen the knowledge and skills of hair transplant physicians in the region.
With over 15 years of continuous clinical experience, Dr. Ben Butwong is trusted by patients from both Thailand and abroad. She is known for developing hair transplant techniques tailored specifically to Asian hair and scalp characteristics. Dr. Ben shared her long-term vision:

This vision began with the success of the FUE ASIA Conference & Workshop 2024, held at The Berkeley Hotel Bangkok last August. The event became a major turning point for Thailand’s hair transplant sector, receiving wide attention from both domestic and international medical professionals.
As the conference chairperson, Dr. Ben emphasized the goal of elevating Thailand’s hair transplant standards. The event brought together specialists from public and private institutions nationwide, along with experts from more than ten countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
One of the most notable highlights was the Live Surgery Workshop held at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, offering hands-on learning opportunities for Thai and international physicians. This workshop played an important role in supporting Thailand’s development toward becoming a center of excellence in hair transplantation. The conference also received official support from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), underscoring the significant role of Hair Transplant Thailand in promoting the country’s medical tourism industry.
Beyond her leadership in international events, Dr. Ben is known for her expertise in FUE Megasession and Long Hair FUE, techniques that require precision, consistency, and a deep understanding of individual follicular structures. She is recognized across the region as Dr. Ben Butwong and previously by her full name, Dr. Benjawan Butwong. She continues to contribute to the development of new generations of Thai physicians and is the founder of Mediren Clinic, a long-established and trusted hair restoration clinic in Thailand.
