Thai Hair Transplant Specialist Recognized on the Global Stage, Strengthening Thailand’s Position as Asia’s Emerging Medical Hub
Dr. Ben Butwong, a well-respected Thai hair transplant physician and founder of Mediren Clinic, was invited as a guest speaker and trainer at the annual meeting of the Indonesian Society of Dermatology (PERDOSKI), held recently in Bali, Indonesia. She delivered an in-depth lecture on Long Hair FUE, a technique she has practiced and refined for many years.
Her participation as an international speaker highlights the growing recognition of Hair Transplant Thailand within the global medical community. It also reflects Thailand’s expanding role in fostering academic collaboration and advancing hair restoration technologies across Southeast Asia. During the conference, Dr. Ben also had the opportunity to discuss future joint activities with the President of PERDOSKI, with the shared goal of enhancing training and knowledge exchange among hair transplant physicians in the region.
With over 15 years of continuous clinical experience, Dr. Ben Butwong is known for developing techniques tailored specifically to Asian hair and scalp characteristics. Her invitation as a guest lecturer affirms the trust and respect she has earned within the international hair restoration field.

This ambition is rooted in the success of the FUE ASIA Conference & Workshop 2024, held in Bangkok this past August at The Berkeley Hotel. As the event chairperson, Dr. Ben emphasized the importance of raising Thailand’s clinical standards and encouraging knowledge sharing among professionals. The conference welcomed hair transplant physicians from leading public and private sectors nationwide, along with experts from more than 10 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
One of the conference’s highlights was the Live Surgery Workshop hosted at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, providing hands-on learning opportunities for both Thai and international doctors. This became an important step in strengthening Thailand’s potential as a center for hair transplant development. The event was also officially supported by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), reflecting the growing significance of Hair Transplant Thailand in promoting national medical tourism.
Beyond her role in international conferences, Dr. Ben continues to be recognized for her expertise in FUE Megasession and Long Hair FUE, procedures that require consistency, precision, and a deep understanding of individual follicular structure. Previously known by her full Thai name, Dr. Benjawan Butwong, she is widely regarded for her contribution to training new doctors in Thailand and for her long-standing dedication as the founder of Mediren Clinic.
