Thai Hair Transplant Expert Earns Global Recognition

Dr. Ben Butwong’s leadership in advanced FUE techniques strengthens Thailand’s role as a rising Asian medical hub.

Bangkok, September 2025 — Dr. Ben Butwong, widely known as “Dr. Ben”, Director of Mediren Clinic and a long-standing specialist in hair transplantation, has gained international recognition after being invited as a guest speaker and trainer at the annual meeting of the Indonesian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (PERDOSKI) in Bali, Indonesia.

Dr. Ben shared her expertise on the Long Hair FUE hair transplant technique, a specialised method gaining traction in Asia, reaffirming her position as a regional leader in the field. She also held discussions with PERDOSKI leadership on advancing professional development, building on her more than 15 years of international experience. As a pioneer in tailoring hair transplant techniques to Asian patients, Dr. Ben has been instrumental in positioning Thailand as a future medical hub.

A key milestone was her leadership in organising the FUE ASIA Conference & Workshop 2024 at the Berkeley Hotel Bangkok, which brought together experts from over 10 countries with support from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

Her role continued at the FUE ASIA: ASEAN Regional Workshop, held on 12–13 July 2025 in Bali in collaboration with PERDOSKI. The event gathered professionals from across ASEAN—including Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and the Philippines—for live demonstrations, lectures, and workshops showcasing cutting-edge techniques in hair restoration.

Dr. Ben participated as an academic advisor and observer in her capacity as a board member of FUE Asia, alongside several Thai doctors who contributed to the programme. The event also featured internationally renowned speakers, including Dr. Kavish Chauhan, Dr. Sarah Alenezi, Dr. Kuldeep Saxena, Dr. Ivan Kurniadi, and Dr. Anayene Craveiro Mendes, who presented on topics ranging from hairline design and beard/eyebrow transplants to Long Hair FUE graft harvesting and modern post-operative care.

The gathering marked another step forward in raising ASEAN’s hair transplantation standards to align with global benchmarks while highlighting Thailand’s growing role in medical innovation.
